Trans are human, not animals at a zoo
I felt that the Medical Students at Cooperman-Barnabas Hospital, treated me, a post op trans woman, like a medical freak
I felt that the Medical Students at Cooperman-Barnabas Hospital, treated me, a post op trans woman, like a medical freak
The story unfolds
On 7/12/2021, I had Vaginoplasty Depth Revision Surgery with Dr. Nitin Patel, Dr. Jonathan Keith, at Saint Barnabas Hospital in Livingston NJ…..This procedure has never been performed at Saint Barnabas Hospital before
Dr. Patel and Dr. Keith, are very talented doctors and expertly performed the surgery
The next morning July 13, 2021, the only bandages that were visible, were on my stomach, so if the sheets of the hospital bed were to be turned aside, my vintage 2017 post op vagina was clearly visible
I was still a little foggy from anesthesia, not as sharp as usual, so I was quite compliant
Suddenly a masked woman with short black hair and glasses, waltzes into my room, accompanied by a male dressed in black outfit, he didn’t say too much, they both were kind of giggly
3rd urology (NJMS) resident (PGY3) Dr. Anh Thuy Nguyen, brusquely introduces herself, as Anh
She name-drops, Dr. Patel to gain authority and then Requests TO SEE MY EXERNALLY HEALED VAGINA (Original GCS 2017) ANH was also not a part of the team the day of my surgery
Having this on her side Milgram experiment - Wikipedia, I was compliant as most people are to medical personal
Sadly there was no bed side manner, as in how are you feeling, can I get you anything, Anh and company’s visit was probably less than 4 minutes
After Ann and company left, another male dressed in black made the same request, no bedside manner either, Saint Barnabas Hospital horror show
The next day when I was home, I put it all together and realized these students used their position of authority, for their own MEDICAL VOYEURISTIC PLEASURE, I broke down and was hysterical, my best friend brought me to see my therapist
One could pivot and say, it’s typical for residents to check up on patients, I have had quite a few procedures in my life and there was never a parade of students or dr’s after my surgeries asking to see areas that weren’t bandaged …… see pics on bottom of site
Pressing the issue, I also known several patients of Dr. Keith and Dr. Patel, who had new vaginoplasties and they didn’t have students parading through their room
Before this event, I had a lot of trust in medical professionals
Whenever I am going to a new doctor apt, I start having quite a few dreams with masked Anh, asking to see my vagina
On the day of the apt, I wear baggy sweats and I am really nervous about any questions they may ask
I feel guilty about complaining about my experience especially, when I compare it to all the international and local horrors that have taken/take place in people’s lives
Whilst, I don't feel entitled to any special treatment, because I am LGBTQ+
But I do expect common decency
Sadly, I occasionally continue to relive this event, it has not gone away and I wish it would
It's Not Who I Am Underneath, But What I Do That Defines Me
